Christmas Posting Dates and a cosy snow morning

Christmas Posting Dates and a cosy snow morning

We woke up to snow, heavy snow and I can not tell you how happy it makes me, the girls jumped out of bed and we have been watching the heavy snowflakes with joy. I had lots of plans for today including a trip to IKEA. Apparently, IKEA is quiet this time of the year, new kitchens and homewares are not on people's minds. Well if you are a Swede, homewares is always on your mind, and IKEA here we come... but then Nah I am not going to drive to IKEA this morning, maybe later today if the snow clears but at this very moment I will stay cosy indoors. A little bit of Christmas crafts and a little bit of baking and I think we got ourselves a pretty good Christmas prep day, oh let us not forget a Christmas film.

In Sweden, we have a word for a day like today, Christmas prep, "Julstök" Jul is Christmas and stök is a word for the mess you make when you are doing something.

Anyway the Royal Mail saga, I understand people are frustrated. And yes, I have looked at UPS, DHL, Evri, etc but as a lot of businesses have swapped due to the strikes they are experiencing just as many delays.

So to try to catch up, Royal Mail has brought forward the dates for Christmas Posting dates:

Monday 12th December - 2nd class signed for
Friday 16th December - 1st class signed for
I would say that this weekend with its cold snowy weather is a great weekend to get your online orders sorted. Sit down, pour yourself a coffee, and place those Swedish Tomte orders. I will happily gift wrap and send it to your loved ones.
Happy snowy Saturday from Edinburgh
